HINGHAM – Pilgrim Arena is the definition of home ice advantage when it comes to a big game for the Hingham High hockey team. 

There was a person every 18 inches in the stands and not a single place left to stand inside of the barn Wednesday night when the Harbormen took on Catholic Memorial in a battle of the 2nd and 3rd ranked teams in the MIAA’s latest power rankings. Hingham got goals from Joe Hennessey, Travis Rugg, and Ace Concannon to send the immense crowd home happy with a 3-1 win.

Harbormen Handle Catholic Memorial in 3-1 Win

We don’t know where last night’s 3-1 win over Catholic Memorial ranks in head coach Tony Messina’s 600 victories, but it’s definitely in the “top five” for senior captain Chase McKenna.

HINGHAM –– Hingham goaltender Luke McLellan was off his angle.

Outstretched at the top of the crease, the senior stuck out his left pad in desperation, thwarting an outstanding chance from the congestion the Catholic Memorial hockey team had assembled in front of the net. With seven and a half minutes to play, and the Harbormen clinging to a one-goal lead, the Knights kept up their unrelenting pressure on McLellan in search of an equalizer.
